Ribble Cycles unveils the new Allroad range created with the prime purpose of redefining what’s possible on a road bike. World-class aerodynamic performance and mixed terrain adventures, all without compromising on speed or comfort.
Road-focused with horizon-expanding capabilities, Ribble’s approach is called Road+ and they invite you to redefine your limits.
The Allroad range is the culmination of an intensive three-year R&D and Real-World testing process where advanced technologies and applied manufacturing and technology have been informed by Ribble’s flagship Ultra Road aero platform.
Trickle-down, aero-optimised technology combines with the endurance properties of a more relaxed geometry to create a premier platform which can be ridden all-day, on multi-surface terrain, offering maximum performance and enhanced ride experience.
Jamie Burrow, Head of Product at Ribble told us;
“Our extensive R&D program has enabled us to introduce key findings into the Allroad range giving each bike a competitive advantage and performance edge resulting in a complete package for all riders.
“The Allroad platform has been meticulously designed and fine-tuned to offer an incredible all-day endurance ride paired with unbeatable performance.”
The Allroad Range
The Allroad platform comprises of three models; Allroad SL, Allroad SL R and Allroad SL R e.
Key features across the platform include aerodynamically optimised tube profiles, new endurance specific geometry that does not compromise performance, improved tyre clearance of up to 38mm (SL R & SL R e models), multiple mounting points (including hidden mudguard mounts), multi surface versatility and striking signature design livery.
Models boast the latest carbon technology with the range-topping SL R and SL R e models featuring an advanced blend of T1000 and M46 fibres. The Allroad SL is constructed from T800 and T700 fibres and shares a number of the key aerodynamic features of the flagship SLR models.
One of the key innovations is the all-new Ribble UB2 bar (Ultra Bar 2nd Gen), available on the SL R and SL R e.
Taking all the advantages of the patented Ultra handlebar’s air-flow disrupting wake generators, aero-sculpted drops and direct mount brake levers, and optimising them for an endurance road setup, the UB2 carbon handlebar brings added adjustability to the fully integrated, cable-free ergonomic design for all day riding on the hoods or drops.
The Allroad range is available in recommended builds including Sport, Enthusiast, Pro, and Hero. There’s also the option of fine-tuning the specification using Ribble’s Configurator where livery can also be further personalised using the CustomColour tool.
The SL R
The flagship Allroad SL R incorporates the aerodynamically advanced technology from the class-leading Ultra Road platform to create a superlight machine designed to slice through the air with ultimate efficiency.
The SL R uses a bespoke blend of M46 and T1000 carbon fibre for superlight weight and maximum strength, weighing in at 7.5kg (Medium Hero build). The model benefits from aero optimised profiling of the downtube, flared seat stays and wider forks alongside tapered chain stays to aid compliance and tyre clearance up to 38c.
The SL R includes internal frame storage in the downtube for all ride essentials and can be completed with Ribble’s aero-optimised bottle cages, making the bike even faster with a bottle than without.

Ribble have promised us a test bike and once it’s with us we’ll put it through its paces and write a detailed review or two, which may help you with your next-bike decision-making.
We understand that the Ribble CGR and Endurance ranges are being discontinued so this Allroad range will fill the space nicely in the Ribble catalogue left by those bikes and will cater for riders who don’t need a pure race bike but instead will benefit from a reasonably priced, comfortable machine which should work well on-road and off-road too… we’ll find out if that’s the case.
